This past July, I had the joy of guiding a lovely family of five from Middle East through the Netherlands. It was more than a tour — it was four days of connection, laughter, and shared curiosity.
They weren’t in a rush. They wanted a deeper kind of travel — to feel the atmosphere of each place, to ask questions, and to enjoy the small moments in between. It’s exactly the kind of journey I love to create.

🛍️ Day 1 – From Amsterdam to Roermond: Fashion & Slow Travel
We started with a full-day trip to Roermond Designer Outlet, one of Europe’s top shopping spots. The family explored luxury and lifestyle brands at a relaxed pace — no pressure, just joy in discovering and comparing.
What stood out to me was how this day wasn’t just about shopping. During the 2-hour drive each way, we shared stories, talked about life in Kuwait and the Netherlands, and even swapped music playlists. The bond already started to grow.
🌿 Day 2 – Windmills, Cheese, and Charming Dutch Towns
We left the city behind and headed north. First stop: Zaanse Schans — iconic windmills, clogs, cheese tastings, and stroopwafels. I watched the kids become fascinated by how clogs are made, while their parents soaked in the peaceful views.
In Zaandam, we made a quick stop at the playful Inntel Hotel for that classic photo moment. Then it was off to Volendam, where the family had fun dressing in traditional Dutch costumes — a memory they’ll take home forever.
In the evening, we experienced something truly special: the Alkmaar Cheese Market. It only happens during summer evenings, and the family loved the mix of tradition, live music, and the festive spirit.
This day was long — over 10 hours — but it never felt tiring. There was a beautiful rhythm in how we moved through it together.
🖼️ Day 3 – Amsterdam at Their Own Pace
The family asked for a self-guided day in Amsterdam — and I helped plan a route that matched their interests. With Uber or Bolt, they explored cultural highlights like the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, and Museumplein.
Later, they visited the Ajax Stadium for a private VIP tour — something they were truly excited about. As sweet lovers they tried all sweets including cookies, Tony Chocolonely, stroopwaffels .
This was their chance to explore independently — and they did it with confidence.
🚣 Day 4 – Whisper Boats, Miniatures & Ceramics
We left early for a scenic road trip that began in Giethoorn, the peaceful village of canals. In whisper boats, the family quietly explored the narrow waterways — one of the highlights for the kids.
From there, we continued to The Hague. A short stop at the Peace Palace sparked a meaningful conversation about world justice and diplomacy. Then we visited Madurodam, where miniature Dutch cities came to life — fun, educational, and full of surprises.
Finally, we reached Delft, home of blue-and-white ceramics. At the Royal Delft Factory, they saw how Delftware is still handcrafted. The calm charm of the town, the stories behind every tile — it brought a perfect sense of closure to our journey.
A Family I Won’t Forget
Some tours leave a mark — and this one truly did. From their thoughtful questions to the way they enjoyed the little things, this family reminded me why I do what I do.
It was never about ticking off attractions. It was about understanding, sharing cultures, laughing in the car, enjoying the silence in nature, and seeing the Netherlands not just with their eyes — but with their hearts.
Thank you to this beautiful family for their trust, their warmth, and for letting me be part of their memories.
